Tami Barron, President and CEO

Tami Barron is president and CEO of Southern Linc and Southern Telecom, both wholly owned subsidiaries of Southern Company.

Southern Linc offers integrated wireless communications services to consumer, business and government customers. Southern Telecom provides long-haul and metropolitan dark fiber connecting Atlanta with other cities throughout the Southeast.

Prior to joining Southern Linc and Southern Telecom, Barron was vice president of Southern Company’s supply chain management organization overseeing more than 750 employees and numerous contractors across the entire region. She also served as general manager of distribution engineering, construction and maintenance at Georgia Power from 2011 – 2014.

Barron was an integral part of Southern Company’s massive restoration effort following Hurricane Katrina in 2005. She was part of the team that led efforts coordinating supplies, crews, contractors, logistics and work prioritization for a workforce of 12,000 distribution workers from across the United States and Canada. As a result, Mississippi Power was able to restore power to all customers who could receive it within just 12 days. Barron had previously served as Pine Belt Division engineering and operations manager for Mississippi Power in Hattiesburg.

Since joining Southern Company in 1984, Barron has held various positions in marketing, area management and distribution operations for some of Georgia’s fastest-growing areas. She has also served as assistant to the vice president of Georgia Power’s Southern Region.

Barron is currently on the board of directors of Atlanta Habitat for Humanity. She has held leadership positions in a number of community organizations, including Georgia Cystic Fibrosis, United Way, the Cartersville Chamber of Commerce, the Columbus College Engineering Advisory Board, the Columbus Symphony Board, Uptown Columbus and the American Society of Agricultural Engineers.

A graduate of the University of Georgia, Barron received a bachelor’s degree in agricultural engineering. She holds a master’s of business administration from Columbus State University and is a graduate of the Goizueta Business School’s Executive Program at Emory University as well as Leadership Atlanta and Leadership Georgia.

Carmine Reppucci, CFO

Carmine Reppucci

As chief financial officer, vice president and treasurer for Southern Telecom, a Southern Company, Carmine Reppucci assesses and evaluates business risks facing the company and ensures the accuracy and timeliness of accounting records and financial projections. Reppucci leads the company's corporate operations organization, which includes information systems, real estate facilities and customer accounting.

Responsible for the company’s accounting policies and practices and establishing internal controls to evaluate business risks, Reppucci monitors the financial performance of Southern Telecom against its business plan, ensuring variances and emerging issues are understood and addressed. He reports these performance results to various parties, including the company’s board of directors.

Reppucci began his career with Southern Company in 1998 when he joined Southern Linc as comptroller and director of financial operations. He then moved into the position of director of change management, and project director-Oracle financials for Southern Company’s Enterprise Solutions Project.

Reppucci earned a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from Rider University and a Masters degree in Business Administration from Emory University.

Wayne A. Ellis, General Manager

Wayne A. Ellis

Wayne Ellis was selected in 1998 to lead Southern Telecom as its first general manager. Prior to joining Southern Telecom, Ellis held various positions within Southern Company in the areas of sales and marketing, market research and planning, distribution operations, and power generation project development.

A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Ellis holds an MBA degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham. He is a registered professional engineer in the State of Alabama. As a recently retired Colonel in the U.S. Army Reserves, he has over 30 years experience as a signal officer.

Barry Navarre, Business Development Manager

Barry Navarre

In his role as Business Development Manager, Barry Navarre is responsible for generating, evaluating, negotiating, and fostering strategic relationships and bi-lateral contract agreements in the delivery of telecommunications and information-based services for Southern Telecom.

Navarre brings a wealth of telecom management experience to the Southern Telecom team. Before joining Southern Telecom, Navarre managed strategic carrier relationships with national and regional carriers, CLECs, ILECs, ISPs and third party integrators. He is experienced in evaluating customer communications needs and developing custom fiber-optic solutions for them. Navarre also has consulted on fiber-optic WAN, VoIP, Internet access, metro Ethernet, video conferencing and data storage solutions. His telecom experience broad, ranging from field testing of network trunks to technical sales support to development of transport networks and network migrations.

Navarre holds an MBA from The University of Alabama and a B.S. in Management Information Systems from the University of Southern Mississippi. He also served in the U.S. Airforce. He resides in Chelsea, Alabama with his wife Angie, son Jackson, and daughter Brooklyn.

Michael Lamar, Carrier Account Executive

Michael Lamar

Michael Lamar serves as Carrier Account Executive with Southern Telecom. Lamar is responsible for new client acquisition and management of clients in the telecom carrier, content provider, and large enterprise categories.

Lamar is experienced in telecom sales. He brings a concentration of knowledge in the development of fiber service routes and fiber network expansion projects to his position. Lamar is also skilled in PON, VoIP and MPLS network solutions. He has expertise in serving government, healthcare and automotive sectors as well.

Lamar holds a B.S. degree in organizational management from Voorhees College. He is also a graduate of the Leadership Augusta and Leadership Columbia County programs. He resides in Augusta, Georgia. He is married with three children. Previously, he served as an Ambassador for Augusta and North Augusta Chambers of Commerce, the Board of Directors for the Salvation Army of Augusta and the Easter Seals Society of Augusta.

Jimmy Burton, Accounting Manager

Jimmy Burton

Jimmy Burton has been part of the Southern Telecom team since 2000. Prior to joining Southern Telecom, Burton held various accounting positions at Southern Company subsidiaries including Southern Linc and Southern Company Services.

Burton holds a bachelor's degree in accounting and a MBA degree from Georgia State University. Burton is a certified public accountant and is a member of the Georgia Society of CPA's.

 

Lori Beth Morris, Senior Counsel

Lori Beth Morris

Lori Beth Morris joined Southern Company Services in May 2014. Prior to her time at Southern, she focused her practice on mergers and acquisitions in the media and communications sectors, specifically telecom, print and cable, and general corporate matters as associate at Dow Lohnes (now Cooley) in Washington, D.C. and Atlanta and McGuireWoods in Atlanta. As Senior Counsel for Southern Company Services, Morris advises Southern Telecom and Southern Linc Wireless on general business matters, commercial transactions and other contracts, and manages and coordinates the use of outside counsel.

A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Morris received her J.D. with honors from the University of Georgia School of Law, where she served as Executive Editor of the Georgia Journal of International and Comparative Law and was appointed to the Order of the Coif.
